{"id":372,"date":"2018-09-26T09:00:38","date_gmt":"2018-09-26T07:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.osvaldolicini.it\/news\/302\/"},"modified":"2018-09-26T16:55:34","modified_gmt":"2018-09-26T14:55:34","slug":"licini-is-there-too-in-two-exhibitions-dedicated-to-margherita-sarfatti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.osvaldolicini.it\/en\/news\/licini-is-there-too-in-two-exhibitions-dedicated-to-margherita-sarfatti\/","title":{"rendered":"Licini is there, too, in two exhibitions dedicated to Margherita Sarfatti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Margherita Sarfatti. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Segni, colori e luci a Milano<\/strong><br \/>\ncurated by Anna Maria Montaldo and Danka Giacon<br \/>\nwith the collaboration of Antonello Negri<br \/>\nMuseo del Novecento, Milan<br \/>\n21 September 2018 \u2013 24 February 2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Margherita Sarfatti. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Il Novecento Italiano nel mondo<\/strong><br \/>\ncurated by Daniela Ferrari<br \/>\nMart &#8211; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto -, Rovereto<br \/>\n22 September 2018 \u2013 24 February 2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The two exhibitions are part of a project devoted to Margherita Sarfatti, an important figure in twentieth-century culture who promoted the artistic movement Novecento Italiano.<br \/>\nBoth shows display the works of numerous artists, including Osvaldo Licini, who, although he never joined Novecento Italiano, participated in a few exhibitions that can be linked to the movement.<\/p>\n<p>There are two works by the artist in the exhibition at the Museo del Novecento in Milan: a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osvaldolicini.it\/opera\/marina\/\">Marina<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osvaldolicini.it\/opera\/nella-figura\/\">Nella (figura)<\/a>.<br \/>\nIt only recently became possible to establish that the seascape is one of the three works by Licini that were displayed in the I mostra del Novecento italiano held at the Permanente di Milano in 1926.<br \/>\nNella (figura) was instead displayed in the exhibition \u2018Novecento italiano\u2019 Nutida italiensk konst held in Stockholm in 1931. The work, reproduced in the exhibition catalogue of 1931, differed some from its current state. It is therefore probable that Licini reworked the 1926 painting after 1931.<\/p>\n<p>In the exhibition at the Mart in Rovereto, Licini is instead represented by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osvaldolicini.it\/opera\/natura-morta-con-arancia\/\">Natura morta con arancia<\/a> from 1926, a painting that was displayed in Amsterdam in 1927 in the Exhibition of Italian art in the Netherlands presented by Enrico Morpurgo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lorenzo Licini<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Margherita Sarfatti.
